Background & Experience
Mackenzie comes from a family of union members. She first started thinking about the role unions play in society while studying Economics at the University of Victoria and has since developed a keen interest in advancing workers’ rights as a lawyer.
During law school, Mackenzie worked with an animal advocacy organization on a successful constitutional challenge to Ontario legislation which made it illegal for activists to blow the whistle on animal cruelty by obtaining jobs on farms under false pretenses and received an award for her factum writing at the Adam F. Fanaki Competition Law Moot.
She completed her articles at a full service, international law firm.
In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys training for and running marathons and half marathons.
