Background & Experience
Matei completed his articling at a corporate/commercial law firm in Edmonton before being called to the bar November 2025 and continuing at a labour and employment firm in Edmonton. He joined Koske Glavin Gordon in 2026. During his law school summers he worked as a dayleader at Student Legal Services of Edmonton, and as a summer law student at the Alberta Human Rights Commission the following year.
Matei has also worked as a substitute teacher and taught kindergarten through grade 12 as needed. He enjoyed being in front of a dynamic audience where no day was the same as the one before, a skill which became useful in law school and in legal practice in employee-side advocacy.
Matei is also fluent in English and Romanian, and speaks French and Spanish. Outside of work Matei enjoys reading, going for bike rides and walks, and trying to finish tv shows he has already started.
