In the Community

At Koskie Glavin Gordon, we take pride in giving back to the communities in which we live and work.  We take a hands-on approach to charitable and community activities and are involved in groups dedicated to advocacy, social service, education, sports, diversity and the arts.

Through a variety of sponsorships, the Firm strives to support their trade union clients in British Columbia including the following;

  • UFCW Local 247 Golf Tournament (donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada)
  • Light the Night Walk in conjunction with UFCW Local 247 (donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada)
  • Operating Engineers Golf Tournament (Donating to Variety – The Childrens’ Charity)
  • Grain Workers’ Union Golf Tournament
  • BC and Yukon Construction Trades Golf Tournament (Donating to Variety – The Childrens’ Charity and the UBC Centre for Research in Childhood Diabetes)
  • Just Golf Tournament (Koskie Glavin Gordon were major supporters of this fundraiser for the Burma Relief Centre while it ran for 10 years, which provided funding to the Dr. Cynthia Mae Tao Clinic and the Backpack Health Worker team)

Charities, non-profits and community organizations which we directly support include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • A Beef with Hunger
  • West Coast LEAF

In addition, our affiliated firm, Koskie Minsky is proud to be a part of the “16 Firms for 160 Girls” Campaign organized by the Canadian Charity, The Equality Effect. This campaign is a collaborative initiative with partners from 16 of the leading law firms in Canada. The project is an innovative litigation strategy designed to achieve access to justice for 160 girls from Kenya who are victims of sexual violence.
