Koskie Glavin Gordon is a leading progressive law firm in Vancouver providing a full range of services to trade unions and employees in labour law, human rights, pension and benefits, class actions, and insolvency law. We represent a wide variety of unions in both the private and public sectors and in many industries. We are committed to social justice and to providing the highest quality legal work in an informal and collegial atmosphere.
We are seeking a lawyer with 3+ years of experience who is committed to social justice issues. Experience in the areas of labour law and human rights law, including conducting arbitrations or other hearing work (litigation of any sort) is strongly preferred.
In addition to research and hearing preparation, the position will involve hearing work and drafting legal opinions and arguments. The successful candidate must have strong research skills, the ability to write clearly, to think analytically and strategically, and strong oral advocacy skills. Prior experience conducting hearings will be considered very favourably.
Candidates must be members of, or to be eligible for membership in, the Law Society of British Columbia. Ideally, the candidate selected will start on August 15, 2020, but this is flexible.
Please send a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample to the attention of Kevin Shano, Administrator, at email@example.com by July 15, 2020.
All applications and inquiries will be kept confidential. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
